  The 1970’s saw a major uptick in the British punk movement. The youth of England were growing increasingly angry and frustrated with the British monarchy and the establishment it represented. The essence of punk music was to mock the establishment, to create a wave or culture that would soon be felt throughout the European continent and across the pond in the United States.
