| Guns N Roses is a band well known for its outrageous flare in live performances. Singer Axl Rose set the standard for extravagance and excess in the metal rock genre. Writing and releasing ‘November Rain’ in 1991 the song was not only trimmed from 25 minutes to just under 9, it had three epic guitar solos, and a movie budget-sized music video to accompany it. The song holds two records on Billboard.com – it is the longest running Top 10 hit and contains the longest guitar solo in a Top 10 single. Despite the songs staying power it only topped out at number 3 on the charts. | |
