  With honorary titles like “The Hardest Working Man in Show Business”, “Soul Brother Number One”, “Mr. Dynamite”, and the most recognized of them all, “The Godfather of Soul”, James Brown was a profound R&B artist. Brown was the first in his genre to have his songs break onto the mainstream pop charts and to perform dance moves for the American public they had never seen before. His journey took him from a poor black man in the south to a common household name, all starting with his release of ‘Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag’ in June 1965.
