A “traveling vagabond family” and a “L.A. hippie clan” the indie folk band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros plays loud, high energy music defined by an unbridled positivity. The ten piece band appear to be more like a traveling circus, or a cult than that of a rock band. Lead by Alex Ebert, the band’s bright, high energy music serves as a remedy to a pessimism and negativity. The subject of this week’s Lyrics Undercover will be the breakout hit from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ first album, Up From Below, “Home.”
