This week on Lyrics Undercover we’ll consider a song originally performed in Hindi, from a movie soundtrack. In 2009,”Jai Ho” won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy for the Best Song Written for a Motion Picture. The Pussycat Dolls took the song, held on to its essence as an anthem, and made an English version that took it to #15 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. | |
